Neville Murdoch could not be more pleased with the successful sales season that Larneuk Stud has been enjoying - horses raised at the picturesque Euroa property proving popular at the Inglis Classic and the Melbourne Premier.
Three yearlings by Teofilo proved highlights at the recent Melbourne Premier, under Yarran Thoroughbreds' banner Larneuk selling a $220,000 colt out of the Husson mare Alynya (daughter of the Gr.3 mare A Country Girl), a$175,000 colt (a half-brother to the Gr.3 placed Anabaa's Legacy) out of the Fasliyev mare Sea Song and a $160,000 colt out of the Royal Academy mare Reine (daughter of the dual Gr.1 winner Candide).
"Each of those colts proved extremely popular," Murdoch said, noting that they were all foaled and raised at Larneuk - and that their dams are all in foal to exciting new stallion Cluster.
Also in foal to that Gr.2 Theo Marks Stakes winner are the well related mares Dena and Light Waves whose yearlings - also raised at Larneuk - fared well at the Classic Sale, the former by Poet's Voice fetching $75,000 and heading to the Darren Weir stable whilst the latter brought $65,000 to the bid of Prime Thoroughbreds.
"The way our yearlings are pleasing buyers at the sales is testament to the way we raise our horses and select our broodmares," Murdoch said.
