Part of Middlebrook Valley Lodge's Inglis Classic Yearling Sale draft is a quartet of exciting yearlings being sold by Victoria's Larneuk Stud. And Larneuk's Neville Murdoch is looking forward to showcasing them at the Newmarket sale yards next week.
"They are four very nice yearlings who have done everything right during their preparations," he said.
"They are well grown yearlings who have scoped and x-rayed well and we have been getting great feedback from those who have already seen them."
The first of the group through the ring is lot 66, a dashing filly by hot young stallion I Am Invincible.
"Built for speed" with a "strong sloping shoulder and impressive hindquarters," she is a daughter of the winning Way Of Light mare Light Waves whose dam is the city winning Canny Lad mare Cymbala.
Bred on a 3 X 3 cross of the Golden Slipper winning successful stallion Canny Lad, this filly is closely related to the Spring Champion Stakes winner Doctor Doom.
As one of Australia's most popular stallions (serving 197 mares last spring at five times his original fee), the brilliant I Am Invincible needs little introduction. Nine stakes winners in his first two crops and the exciting Listed winner Sundance already emerging from his third.
More of a quiet achiever is Hard Spun, the Group One winning sprinter who has sired 47 stakes winners - represented by winners week in, week out.
Lot 133 is a bay filly by Hard Spun out of the imported Quiet American mare Musical Lyrics. She is already the dam of three winners who between them have won 20 races - including the classy Lyric who looked so good defeating Exosphere, Japonisme and Pride Of Dubai in a Warwick Farm trial last week.
Hard Spun has had just two runners out of Quiet American mares are both are winners including the Group One galloper Hard Aces. And what a family this "neat, well put together" dual purpose filly is from, her dam being a half-sister to the July Cup winning champion sire Green Desert.
The only yearling by Larneuk Stud's Randwick Guineas winner Ilovethiscity in the Classic sale, lot 285 is a bay son of the Redoute's Choice mare Stippled. A "strong colt with good length of stride," he is a half-brother to the Flemington winner Mottled from the family of the successful stallions Cactus Ridge and No Excuse Needed.
The final of the Larneuk quarter is "a handsome, scopey" chestnut son of Dubawi's Queen Elizabeth II Stakes winning son Poet's Voice who has made such a good start to his stud career in the northern hemisphere.
This fellow is the first foal for a winning Cape Cross mare whose grandam is the 1000 Guineas heroine Whisked, dam of three stakes winners including the 13 times Group One winner Tie The Knot.
This lovely group of yearlings can be inspected in Middlebrook Valley Lodge's draft in stable 4, rows H & J.
