SEPTEMBER 2006
The always consistent Lacryma Cristi has been enjoying a great run of late – on Saturday September 23 the promising filly Elyraq recording a particularly tough maiden victory at Geelong.
Trapped very wide throughout, the Tony Noonan trained bay at only her second start just kept digging to win in game style.
Meanwhile in Adelaide on the 18th, 2Y0 filly Jasden recorded an impressive trial victory over 800mat Victoria Park. Her debut is keenly anticipated.
Free The Robber has also been in great form, the Terry O’Sullivan trained 4Y0 winning his last two at the Victorian provincials. It won’t be long until he measures up in town.
The same can be said for Bandini, winner of two of his last four in South Australia.
An amazing 81.1% of Lacryma Cristi’s named foals make it to the track and 70.1% of those horses win or place. He has sired 135 individual winners and is one of Victoria’s best ‘breed to race’ stallions.
The response has been strong to Larneuk’s Tsigane “Win a Landcruiser” competition but the book full sign is not quite up yet. Breeders should take note of this handsome new Anabaa stallion’s outstanding race record and international pedigree.
Fans of Saithor’s daughter Demerger will have noticed her encouraging first up performance in the Craiglee Stakes-Gr.2. Cups bound, she steps up to 2040m in the JRA Trophy-LR at Moonee Valley on September 29.
Legion is proving popular with breeders and his first foals are on the ground and impressing. His pedigree combines two prepotent forces – his sire being Redoute’s Choice and his dam producing another Gr.1 winning leading sire in General Nediym.
