Legion is by the outstanding sire in Australia, Redoute's Choice. He is a half brother
to the Australasian champion 3YO sprinter, General Nediym - another outstanding stallion.
Redoute's Choice has swept all before him. In 2006 his progeny have won every major 2YO
race in Australia and his yearlings have s averaged an incredible $646,348 and this year's
major sales. Redoute's Choice is by the all conquering Danehill.

General Nediym was a champion racehorse. He won 12 of his 16 races at 2 and 3 years of age.
Seven of his wins were at Group level including the VRC Newmarket Hcp (Gr 1) and the VRC
Lightning Stakes (Gr 1). General Nediym went on to become Champion Australian 1st
Crop Sire.

Legion was trained by Lee Freedman. It wasn't long after his impressive 3 1/2 length win that
Freedman decided to send the horse to Sydney for a tilt at the major events there. Tragically an
injury ended the racing career of Legion but it has now allowed breeders to tap into his stallion
potential.
